Acronis true image Features

Acronis true image 11 is the newest addition to the Acronis backup software family. It’s held all of the same features as version 10, and added some new ones.

The same basic features hold true for Acronis True Image the capability to backup individual files, folders and settings is easy as ever. You can actually configure Acronis once and create a scheduled backup to run once a week, month or what ever you’d like.

The live backup feature allows you to continue working on your PC while Acronis True Image completes the backup.

Incremental and differential backup ensures that only files that are new or modified since the last backup are added. This saves time when creating a new backup.

Acronis True Image has a unique ability to create a complete backup of your entire PC. No I don’t just mean all your files and folders, but actually create a complete image even of the OS, user settings etc. This is the ultimate in backing up your system for restore after a major crash.

Also new is the Try and Decide feature. Using Acronis True Image you can turn on the try and decide feature and make modifications to your PC either by installing new applications or just everyday web surfing. After your done you can simply accept any changes that were made during that period or decide to not have any of the modification and return to how your PC was setup before.

What Others are Saying about Acronis True Image

“this product has saved my bacon a number of times. I use it to back up my elderly father’s computer and it has been a life saver. Simple to use, even for someone in their 80’s who is not an IT guy. It is best in class, at least for me anyway. Thanks Acronis!”

Using Acronis true image

Let me tell you I dug long and hard trying to find some negative feedback on Acronis True Image, how ever there really wasn’t anything worth mentioning other then a few users thought the green progress bar that tells you how far along your back is isn’t really relevant.

Installing Acronis is straight forward, not glitches there on XP or Vista.

Creating backups is as easy or as complex as you want it to be. You can start it right out of the box as a point and click backup utility, or customize how and what you backup to your hearts content.

Storing your backups is versatile, and a nice feature that no other program offered was Acronis® Secure Zone®. This feature created a separate hidden partition on your hard drive to store your backups to. This was an ideal feature for anyone using a Tablet PC or notebook without the ability to save a backup on some form of media.

There were comments of quite a few consumers who were using Acronis True Image to keep a backup of their system rather then system restore which is built into Windows. Also the Try and Decide feature allowed users to test things out before making them permanent.

Backing Up and Restoring

No issues with creating a backup, the time to complete is fast. Restoring also goes off without a hitch. No matter if it’s just a few files and folders or a complete system backup of OS, files, and settings.

Support and Help

Acronis has a detailed knowledge base on their website, as well as help built into the program. Live chat support is available, along with a submission form for tech questions that aren’t answered anywhere.

Verdict on Acronis true image

Acronis true image is probably the most versatile data backup program we reviewed. It is a simple or powerful backup program, with imaging features that can’t be touched by any consumer grade product. For the money I don’t think there’s a better backup program out there.

On top of that they have a free trial, you can download it from their official website and test drive Acronis True Image before you spend a dime.
